Sommaren 2000 hände något som förändrade Pearl Jam för alltid.

Men som tur är så slutade de inte att skriva och spela musik - trots att de tänkte det.

Yellow Ledbetter

Yellow Ledbetter är B-sidan på singeln "Jeremy" som släpptes 1992. Låten spelas väldigt ofta som sista låt på Pearl Jam's konserter, när belysningen är tänd och vakterna egentligen vill att alla ska gå hem. Den är spelad totalt 344 gånger live sedan 1992. Texten är omdiskuterad och svår att tolka. Dessutom sjunger Eddie olika varje gång. Det finns egentligen inte en officiell text, eftersom texten hittades på under tiden de spelade in låten, men det är en anti-krigslåt som handlar om det gula brevet amerikanska soldaters familjer får dödsbesked i.
Yellow Ledbetter hänvisar till Eddie's vän Tim Ledbetter, vars bror dog i Gulfkriget (Kuwaitkriget) och familjen fick därmed beskedet via det distinktiva gula brevet som man inte behöver öppna för att veta vad det innehåller.

Den låt som Pearl Jam har spelat flest gånger på konsert är Even Flow. Förståeligt av flera skäl - dels är det ju en gammal låt så den har hängt med länge - och så är den ju fantastiskt bra! Låten är spelad live hela 752 gånger sedan 1991 enligt setlist.fm. Even Flow är låt nummer två från Pearl Jam's debutalbum "Ten" 1991.
